Rwabukoba SS Tops North Kigezi Diocesan Pre-Mock Examinations

The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe, has released the diocesan pre-mock examination results for secondary schools under the Church of Uganda Heads of Education Institutions Association in Rukungiri District.

The results were released during a function held on May 28 at Riverside Hotel in Rukungiri Municipality. A total of 19 secondary schools under the diocese participated in the examinations at both O-Level and A-Level.

According to Denis Mukunzi Nyehangane, Chairperson of the Academic Committee, the schools ranked in the following order based on their performance: Rwabukoba Secondary School, Kinyasano Girls High School, Kyamakanda Secondary School, Katurika Secondary School, Kashenyi Secondary School, Makobore High School, Nyakishenyi High School, Nyakagyeme Secondary School, Rukungiri High School, Kyabugashe Secondary School, Bishop Ruhindi Secondary School, Nyakishenyi Secondary School Nangara, Bwanga Secondary School, Bwambara Secondary School, Bugangari Secondary School, Rukungiri Vocational Secondary School, Rubirizi Secondary School, Nyabiteete Secondary School, and Rubabo Vocational Secondary School.

While officiating at the event, Bishop Asiimwe urged headteachers to lead by example and remain committed to improving academic performance.

“Headteachers must be good examples to both teachers and students. Invest more in learners to improve performance in national examinations. This is one of the ways to increase school enrolment,” Bishop Asiimwe said.

He emphasized the importance of education in transforming lives, noting that it plays a critical role in bridging the gap between the rich and the poor. He also called upon foundation bodies to take education seriously in order to improve standards and strengthen schools.

The headteacher of Kyamakanda Secondary School, David Turyamusima Kapira, thanked the Diocesan Education Coordinator and Bishop Asiimwe for their continued support to Church of Uganda-founded schools.

“The support has motivated headteachers and contributed to improved academic performance. We pledge our continued cooperation,” Turyamusima said.

Diocesan Education Coordinator Rev. Evas Arinaitwe also expressed gratitude to Bishop Asiimwe for his commitment to promoting education within the diocese. He urged headteachers to work closely with school chaplains to strengthen discipline and enhance academic excellence.

The event was attended by the Diocesan Secretary, Rev. Muntrive Nshabaruhanga, former Diocesan Education Coordinators, Rukungiri District Principal Inspector of Schools Peace Atamba, and headteachers from Church of Uganda-founded secondary schools across North Kigezi Diocese.
